Crisis communication & Social Media

           Crisis management is the process by which an organization deals with a major event that threatens to harm the organization, its stakeholders, or the general public and also Crisis communication and Social Media is a part of crises management.

           Besides, Crisis communication is a sub-specialty of the public relations profession that is designed to protect and defend an individual, company, or organization facing a public challenge to its reputation.

            Furthermore, social media play important tools in handling a crisis, because people will using social media post something bad comment on your company, and without any filter and that will drop down the reputation on the company.

            Although, people will also can share their good comment and tell about good things on the company, but that is lesser than compare with people will post bad information or new about your company. Because, the good thing people always like to keep, and bad thing people will like to share.

We can see Starbuck handling and reply the comment immediately. They have the good Crisis communication on Social Media but we can see it people will still like unsatisfied with them.


In a nutshell, social media play important rule in crisis communication, because people are “close” to you when communicate by using social media. It will bring in more feedback, but it is depend on that feedback is GOOD to you or BAD to you.
